🚨 🔔 The new NET ZERO Report to 2050 is out today and a lot of news and deep thinking.
The climate change challenge is something that goes well beyond borders and domestic interests. That is for sure a way to encourage governments to focus on the priority rather than playing with political positioning.
But there is also a message that resonates loud and clear. And it is that renewed, enhanced, reinforced strong international cooperation is a key element to achieve the narrow chances to meet net-zero targets.
At a time when conflicts and divisions between blocks are at their peak in recent decades, the challenge of constructive dialogue for a common objective seems one of the most difficult to face. But there is much more at stake here than national interests and short-sighted approaches.
So, we definitely need much more cash (invested mainly and foremost in clean energy).
But we still need a lot of politics – the good one, the one based on dialogue and truly, sincere, open international cooperation.
