Biographer Walter Isaacson worked with Elon Musk for two years

Elon Musk worked with biographer Walter Isaacson for two years as the billionaire owner of Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter (now X) and Starlink saw his fame, fortune, and influence reach nearly unprecedented levels. And already some of his revelations have sparked debate around Musk’s support for Ukraine.

In this exclusive TV interview, Isaacson says Ukrainians “did not know” Musk had geofenced Crimea from his Starlink satellite to prevent an attack on Russia – while also revealing his ‘dark demon mode’ and explaining that the tech billionaire is sometimes ‘uncomfortable with the power that he has’.

Isaacson said of Musk’s childhood: “He was socially awkward, a scrawny kid beaten up all the time, and that caused a lot of scars. But the main scars were the psychological ones caused by his father who was a brilliant engineer, but also a very Jekyll and Hyde-like character who would go into dark moods… I do think that those demons are still dancing around in his head.”

Elon Musk’s father, Errol, has previously denied these accusations.

Dark Side

Business magnate and multi-billionaire CEO Elon Musk apparently has some more dark secrets behind his success. According to his biographer Walter Isaacson, Musk can enter into “demon mode,” causing him to be “dark” and act “with a real lack of empathy” in order to be highly productive.

Isaacson, a best-selling author who previously penned biographies on Steve Jobs and Albert Einstein, spent two years shadowing Musk’s day-to-day life at home and in the workplace — so he may know a thing or two about Musk’s behavior.

He recently shared his thoughts on Musk during an interview on Twitter Spaces, revealing that it was actually the musician Grimes, Musk’s ex-girlfriend, who coined the term “demon mode.”

Musk would be “unpleasant” to be around in “demon mode,” she told Isaacson, but that he “gets shit done,” as quoted by Insider.
