Well, it’s not every day that you bump into the King.
But that’s exactly what happened on this bike ride. We were riding on Balmoral estate, and there were plenty of Range Rovers and guards with guns, but we didn’t actually expect to see or speak to the King in the way that we did.
I’m not a big fan of the Royal family, in fact, I suppose I could be described as anti-establishment. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy meeting King Charles, and it doesn’t stop him from being a very nice man to talk to either.

The Monarch, 74, was hiking alone in his Scottish Estate when he passed a group of mountain bikers who were filming their trip for a YouTube video.
Wearing a jacket, flat cap, and carrying a walking stick, he stopped and chatted to the group, who told him they were staying on the estate.
In typical British fashion, Charles chatted to the group about the weather and revealed some of his childhood memories on the estate – including camping with his late father Prince Philip, and sister Princess Anne.
The video was posted online by mountain biker Andrew McAvoy who regularly shares his McTrail Rider YouTube channel.
