Routine is Key

Sometimes I feel the need to justify why I don’t have exciting hobbies.
The truth is, running an early-stage startup provides enough of a thrill.
So I don’t bike 50 miles on weekends.
I don’t do cold baths.
I don’t skydive, scuba dive, or do any kind of diving.
Instead, I propagate my plants.
I wear the same work uniform every day.
I go on walks around my neighborhood.
People think routines are boring. But boring lets you “spend” your creativity in other areas of life.
In the wise words of Gustave Flaubert:
“Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work.”
