1st November is an important date as it is the Feast of All Saints, also known as All Saints’ Day. This feast is a solemn celebration dedicated to honouring all the saints, known and unknown, who have attained heaven. It is a day to remember and venerate the virtuous individuals who have lived exemplary lives and are believed to be in the presence of God.

Catholics use this day to reflect on the lives of the saints, seek their intercession, and strive to follow their examples of holiness. It is a day when many Catholics attend Mass and participate in special church services. In some cultures, people may visit cemeteries to pray for and remember their deceased loved ones.

The day following All Saints’ Day, 2nd November, is All Souls’ Day when Catholics pray for the souls of the departed, especially those in purgatory, who are believed to be undergoing purification before entering heaven.

So, for Catholics, 1st November marks a day of honouring and celebrating the saints who have achieved sainthood in the eyes of the Church.
